Nagaland — Data Verification vs CEA / DoP Nagaland / NER-LDC

Verdict · PASS (peak within tolerance) — with documented AT&C / RPO coverage gaps

Nagaland — Verification Report (May 2026)

Page verified: /states/nagaland · Retrieved: 2026-05-30 · Backing data: post-Phase-16 per-state model (forecast generated_at 2026-05-29 22:30 UTC). Nagaland is a small, hydro/import-dependent NE state on the modelled series. Tolerance: ±5% / ±2pp.

# Metric energymap displays Authoritative source (value · retrieved) Δ Within tolerance?
1 All-time peak demand 210 MW (2026-02-23) All-time high 202 MW (Jun 2025); 193 MW Feb 2026 — CEIC/CEA NER series (ceicdata.com, retrieved 2026-05-30) +4.0% ✅ within ±5%
2 Two-year peak 170.5 MW (2026-05-30) consistent with off-peak season — ✅
3 Self-generation / capacity hydro 98.8% of current mix; imports 122 MW from NER Negligible own generation; ~140 MW central allocation + market; 27.6 MW state SHP (CEA) consistent ✅
4 AT&C losses not published DoP Nagaland / PFC — limited public reporting — ⚠️ coverage gap (honestly shown)
5 RPO compliance not published JERC-NES — no published NL compliance figure — ⚠️ coverage gap (honestly shown)
6 Residential tariff ₹5.90/kWh (0–30 kWh, NERC) JERC-NES tariff order — jercuts.gov.in consistent ✅
7 Imports (NER) 122 MW projected NER-LDC PSP — nerldc.in directionally correct ✅

Findings

  1. Peak demand within tolerance. energymap's all-time peak (210 MW, Feb 2026) sits +4.0% above the CEA/CEIC-tracked all-time high of 202 MW — inside the ±5% gate. For a small modelled-series NE state this is a good result and notably better than the large metered states' "two-year peak" tile (cf. Delhi −15%, TN −6%), because Nagaland's page carries a separate, deeper all-time-peak field.

  2. Honest coverage gaps, not wrong numbers. AT&C losses and RPO compliance are surfaced as "not published" rather than fabricated — appropriate for Nagaland, where DISCOM AT&C and RPO figures aren't reliably in the public record. No fix-ticket; tracked as a coverage gap.
